At Ryan’s Automotive Specialist Diagnostic Centre we have invested heavily in the latest diagnostic equipment. We have over 15 different diagnostic tools and other diagnostic accessories to aid us in diagnosing problems in all makes and models of cars and light commercial vehicles.
We also have a huge range of technical data bases and access to car manufacturers official manuals. Our diagnostic technicians are constantly training to ensure that their knowledge is up to date.

We are equipped with the latest air-conditioning equipment to provide a full servicing and re-gassing service for both R134A, R1234yf and R744/CO2
We also have other test equipment for diagnosing the smallest gas leaks to ensure that when your system is refilled that it will stay filled for the correct duration.
We don,t believe in the splash and dash approach and we do much more than just a re-gas when we do a air con service

We are equipped with various different key programming tools and can code keys, key cards and remotes on most vehicles.
We are equipped with Carbon Zapps latest petrol injector tester and can test standard and GDI/FSI injectors. We can also provide an injector cleaning service with the ultrasonic system.
At our Specialist Diagnostic Centre we are equipped with many different specialist tools for diagnosing problems with diesel vehicles to ensure that the parts being removed for repair or replacement are the correct ones.
We are the Irish distributor for Dimsport tuning modules. These tuning modules can give up to 30% increase in power and up to 20% reduction in fuel consumption for diesel cars, LCV and tractors.
Using state of the art equipment, a simple 3 stage ECU remapping procedure will transform your vehicle giving you up to 40% increase in power and torque and a reduction in fuel consumption. Options for Power increase or Economy or Best of both(known as the Greenpower remap)
Many modern light commercial vehicles have the facility built into the engine electronics ECU that allows us to programme / set the speed limit.
We can programme the speed limit on many different light commercial vehicles this saves you having to purchase an expensive add on after market speed limiter.
In some cases we may be able to revive your DPF / FAP filter by performing a special cleaning process and after that performing a regeneration. See here for more details.
We now can supply and fit replacement DPF filters new and remanufactured for a huge range of makes and models .
Also when you replace the DPF the ECU needs to be reset and sometimes also needs a software update and as we have invested in OE softwares we can also provide this services which up until now could normally be only performed by the main dealer
Our Specialist Diagnostic Centre will also check for problems which may be causing your dpf to block.
All modern vehicles from about 1995 onwards have a built in immobiliser system. Problems with your immobiliser system can be caused by many issues, from key fobs that have lost their coding, key fobs with lost transponder chips, damaged or corroded wiring, faulty ECUs, can bus errors, corrupt body ECUs, faulty BSI units, damaged receiver rings and so on.
On certain vehicles we can completely bypass the immobilizer system. Please enquire so we can check if your vehicle is one that the immobilizer system can be bypassed(in most cases we will need ecu makes and numbers to check this for you) and if it is one that cannot be bypassed we can diagnose and repair the immobilizer system.
Please note for this service we will need written permission from the vehicle owner and proof of vehicle tax book and drivers licence.

On most vehicles that have an inbuilt factory immobilizer system the engine ECU is coded to the immobilizer system and the manufacturers say that once the ECU is married to that specific immobilizer system it is married to the system for life so this means that if the engine ECU fails on your vehicle you cannot replace it with a second hand one as the manufacturers and generic diagnostic tools will not allow you to recode a used ECU.
With other programming and eeprom reading writing devices we can in a lot of cases virginise the ECU (this means that when we do this the ECUs immobiliser system is in a new unmarried state) and can be reprogrammed with a diagnostic tool that has the capabilities.
In other cases we can read the immobiliser data from the faulty ECU and write it to the used ECU so then it can be fitted to the vehicle without any programming. This procedure is known as cloning.
